About Me

Allison Henson

I began riding at a very young age, developing a deep love for horses right away. I got my start in 4-H where that passion only grew, and in high school joined the local Pony Club chapter and began competing more seriously. After graduating high school, I moved to Florida to pursue horses full time. I spent 2 years grooming for a 4* event rider, then moved to a hunter/jumper trainer where I found my love for developing young horses. I have been on my own for 6 years now, although still constantly seek help and guidance from numerous trainers in order to continue progressing. I also continue to freelance groom on the side occasionally and have groomed at the FEI level for dressage, eventing and show jumpers. I specialize in young horses now and prioritize correct foundations above all else.

I am a firm believer in horse welfare and happiness coming first. Finding the right career for each horse and guiding them towards that with an approach that suits them is my top priority, and I believe that every horse deserves to live a relaxed, confident life while still achieving competitive goals. Additionally, I back a “whole horse” approach, meaning that all parts of each horse’s day matter to me from if they’re relaxed in turnout, their gut being happy, standing happily for grooming and bathing, and so on.
